A massive protected park, Desolation Sound offers majestic fjords, towering peaks, cascading waterfalls, pristine lakes, and countless well-protected anchorages. Minimal development creates a true feeling of unspoiled wilderness. Summer sun and meeting tides create warm water up to 75 degrees F (22 degrees C).

This area was named by Captain Vancouver for its rugged forests and silent coves. There are many spectacular routes through this maze of islands. You may also travel 30 to 40 miles up the B.C. mainland canyons of Toba and Bute Inlets.
