This area was named by Captain Vancouver for its rugged forests and silent coves. There are many spectacular routes through this maze of islands. You may also travel 30 to 40 miles up the B.C. mainland canyons of Toba and Bute Inlets.

Day 1 |
Quadra Island - Taku Resort – Mansion LandingCharter a seaplane directly to the yacht, or arrive by scheduled flight from Vancouver to Campbell River and then transfer to Heriot Bay on Quadra Island. For arrival by private jet, fly to Campbell River. Enjoy a champagne welcome reception while cruising to Manson’s Landing on Cortez Island. |
Day 2 |
Manson’s Landing – Squirrel CoveEnjoy breakfast onboard then walk to the lagoon to view sand dollars. Hike on the old school house trail with a visit to the Cortes Museum. After lunch cruise to the sheltered waters of Squirrel Cove for a guided kayaking tour. |
Day 3 |
Squirrel Cove to Teakerne Arm to Mink IslandIn the morning, cruise to Teakerne Arm, once the last refuge before heading north. Visit the oyster farm and chat with the resident oyster lady. Visit Cassel Falls and take a leisurely hike followed by a swim and rock diving in Cassel Lake. Afternoon cruise to Mink Island. |
Day 4 |
Mink Island to Pendrell Sound to Black LakeEnjoy stunning views on a morning cruise of the provincial marine park to Pendrell Sound. Swim in the Sound, also known as the Mexico of the North with waters reaching 80° F in summer. Spend the afternoon playing in these warm waters. In late afternoon cruise to Black Lake for a hike to see the beaver working her damn. |
Day 5 |
Black Lake – Refuge CoveAfter breakfast, take a short cruise to Refuge Cove. Visit the general store and grab an islands-style coffee. |
Day 6 |
Von Donop InletEnjoy a full day exploring this deep inlet. Hike through moss strewn forest for a swim in a mountain lake. Spend the afternoon on a guided kayaking tour around the inlet. Evening cruise to Carrington Bay. Dinner onboard and overnight. |
Day 7 |
Carrington Bay – Whiterock PassageAfter breakfast cruise north to Whiterock passage to anchor. Using the boat’s tenders, cruise through the reversing tides and tidal rips of Okisollo Passage and the famous “Hole in the Wall” including a picnic lunch. Return to the boat for farewell dinner onboard and overnight. |
Day 8 |
Whiterock Passage - Taku ResortCruise south to Hariot Bay and Taku Resort. Charter a seaplane for a direct flight to either downtown Vancouver or Vancouver International Airport, or transfer via Quadra Island to Campbell River for the return flight to Vancouver or private jet travel home. |
